Russian attack in Kharkiv kills 6, injures 10 more

6 civilians were killed in a Russian attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city. 10 more people were injured in this incident. The attack was carried out in the early hours of Saturday (April 6). This information was reported by the regional governor Oleh Sinhubov in Telegram. British news agency Reuters reported this news.


In a Telegram post, Ukraine's national police said drones were used in the attack. The post also included pictures of flames spreading across city streets and next to buildings.


A high-rise apartment building in the Shevchenkivskyi district was damaged in the Russian drone strike, Suspilon public television reported. At the same time, a fire broke out in a shop.



According to other media reports of the country, this attack took place at midnight on Friday.


Earlier Sinhubov reported missile attacks on a residential building in Kharkiv and a village north of the city. However, no casualty was reported in both the attacks.


An airstrike alert was put in place for several hours in most parts of the country, including Kharkiv and Kyiv, immediately after the attack.


Kharkiv is the northeastern city of Ukraine. Russia has stepped up attacks on the city in recent weeks. Four people were killed in a drone strike in the city on Wednesday. Apartment blocks in the city were heavily damaged in the attack.
