4 killed by stabbing in Illinois, USA

Four people were killed and at least 7 others were injured in a stabbing incident in Illinois, USA. News - CNN

A 15-year-old girl, a 63-year-old man, a 49-year-old man, and a 22-year-old youth were among those killed in the incident on Wednesday afternoon local time. Five people were injured in the city of Rockford and two others in the neighboring Winnebago area. A 22-year-old youth has been detained as a suspect in the incident, police said.

The miscreant was first arrested in a house. A woman who had been stabbed ran away from him. Another person was injured while helping this woman.

The police also said that the woman's injuries were serious and she is currently in the hospital. However, the person helping him was not seriously injured.

It is not yet known what exactly led the man to attack with the knife, city police said.
