Lionel Messi is considered by many to be the best footballer of all time on this planet. Messi has won every possible title in a career spanning more than two decades. He also fulfilled his dream of winning the World Cup in December 2022. Messi now plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami. The arrival of Messi fundamentally changed American football. Not only in star image, but also in terms of income, Messi is one of the richest footballers in the world. But the surprising thing is that Messi is not the richest of Inter Miami players!


Miami's richest player is 23-year-old Leonardo Campana. Campana is still finding the ground under his feet in the football world. However, the Ecuadorian footballer comes from a family that has huge investments in various sectors including agriculture, industry, tourism. Apart from economics, the Kampana family has a rich history in sports and politics.


According to the Italian newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport', the current wealth of Argentine superstar Messi is around 500 million euros. Where the wealth of the Campana family is more than 100 million euros. So even though Messi's earnings from football are not close, Campana's position is quite high economically due to family wealth.





Campana's father, Pablo Campana, was a politician and former professional tennis player. He represented Ecuador in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. And in politics, he also served as Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment in Lenin Morena's government. The Kampana family has achieved success in the business world mainly in the housing business.



Campana's grandmother, Isabella Noboa, is also considered one of Latin America's leading businesswomen. Even Kampana's great-grandfather was an established player. He won the Ecuadorian League six times in the 1920s. Campana's grandfather Isidro Romero, on the other hand, served as president of Ecuadorian club Barcelona Sporting for 15 years. Even the president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa Azín, is a relative on Campana's mother's side.


Campana started his football career for Ecuador's Barcelona Sporting Club. He started his journey to professional football at the age of 19. Joined English club Wolves in 2020. Then, after playing on loan at various clubs including Inter Miami, he joined Miami last year. Scored 26 goals in the first two seasons for the Florida club. Recently, Campana lost his place in the eleven to Uruguayan star Luis Suarez. Campana has come on as a substitute in Inter Miami's three matches so far in the MLS.
